DevOps Engineer
The job is to support the team in DevOps administration including (but not limited to) VMs, Jenkins, Containers, Monitoring and Logging, User Support and Communication.
Responsibilities:
VM
- Maintain, configure, troubleshoot, install VMs and Hosts, or convert them to another kind of host
- Test new packages
- Review security
- General improvements, CFengine package proposals
- Help organize and execute downtimes
- Audit current infrastructure, resource usage, up/down sizing
- Jenkins
- Maintain and configure Jenkins server and instances
- Monitoring and troubleshoot user jobs and job failures via ELK and Grafana
- Take care of user security/permissions in Jenkins
- Add and configure Jenkins nodes
- Create and maintain Docker images and configuration
- Fix and troubleshoot docker images and docker daemon
- Help create base docker images for user jobs
- Troubleshooting solutions in Kubernetes/Docker (removed helm, ok not to know)
- Secure deployment of services
- Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, graphs in Grafana
- Installation of monitoring and log-export agents
- Troubleshooting in case of alerts, debugging fixing underlying issue
- Automation of host lists from CMDB
- Jenkins job monitoring and statistics
- Advanced monitoring by modifying Jenkins plugins
- License monitoring, IT service monitoring, Host monitoring
- Review/Check for improvements/problems and implement fix
- Auditing faceless user access
- Make sure users are informed about changes and updates; try to improve communication in general
- Write detailed Jenkins update notifications and previews
- Troubleshooting user issues with faceless accounts, firewalls, networking, connections, storage
- Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in IT linux and Windows server administration
- 1+ years of experience in CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins administration
- 1+ years of experience in container concepts: Docker, Kubernetes
- 2+ years of experience in creating and troubleshooting VMs
- Experience in monitoring and logging tools like ELK and Grafana
- Experience in Source Control: GIT
- Customer support mindset, good communication skills
- Good problem skills
- Knowledge in Python language
- Knowledge in Agile and DevOps principles and familiarity with software lifecycle management
- Familiar with at least one ticket management system such as JIRA, Rally, or Azure DevOps
- Ability to train and self-learn as needed, identify issues from logs and resolve
- Ability to provide excellent user support and good problem solving skills
